10 OCTOBER, 2006
"Now that the hour has come for me to part from India I feel the loneliness aching within me as I realize that I have to face the complexities and problems of a new world. But am sure, He is with me always and will guide me and guard me wherever I go.

As I leave this community and Sevalaya house, this province and this country, I thank God for the happy times we had here, for the help I have received and the lessons I have learnt and for the memories that will fortify me in times ahead. May the Lord keep you safe and Happy and protect me too wherever I go.

The parting hurts, persons taken for granted become strangely precious when we have to be separated from them. That is why these partings are necessary for they help us to realize the value of persons. Please pray that I may enjoy whatever ministry entrusted to me to the fullest and give glory to God.

No matter where the way may lead, I know that I will always find new chances to grow and new beauty to discover in whatever comes my way, because the Lord will go with me. Thank you for your love and support. Thanks also for all you have done to reach out to me in your own way.

I have been praying for you all . Now I will be able to communicate only by email and that too if it is possible. Our family celebrated my birthday and gave me a farewell on the 1st of October. Many other groups of people, girls, hostelites gave me the farewell and now I am all set to go.

I did my retreat from 4th to 12th October at the Conossian convent in Andheri. It was a beautiful peaceful place and Sr. Olive was ever so attentive to all my needs. I feel strengthened from within to accept the challenge of being co-missioned with Jesus to make the Father’s love known and felt in the human experience of the African context.

I am leaving India en route to Africa via Italy & then France to brush up my French.

I need your prayers throughout, especially during the process of adaptation and acclimatization in my new environment. I am 52 years old but I feel full of vigour and enthusiasm. I know that those lovely people of Africa and my dear sisters of the Africa Region will receive me with open arms.

I will miss India and I know I will be missed here too. I am experiencing in my very bones what it means to be universal. It is also a very exciting time for me and a challenging one too - new horizons, new goals, new places, new faces, but the same old wonderful ME. How fortunate are those who will be able to experience their knowledge, wisdom and immense spirituality first hand. Rome, France, Africa - all of it, I think I will love it and I am immensely fortunate, in this stage of my life to witness a different reality far away from the familiar faces of those around me in India.

I pray that I will rise to it with courage and willingness.
