SPONSORSHIP TERM, RENEWAL, ENDING
TERM
The term of sponsorship is one year. The exact dates are very flexible, different for each sponsor, do not correspond with the school year and are basically not that important for on-going sponsorships. Inotherwords, don't worry if you are late renewing, just let us know your intentions to continue so we can keep the letters coming from your Butterfly. Email:

RENEWAL
You can renew automatically by emailing CAL@TheWorldNow.com and indicating your interest to renew sponsorship. You should receive an email automatically asking about your renewal preference near the end of your term. If you do not receive an email - apologies! The email we have for you is out of date or an error has occured in our records: please do email CAL@TheWorldNow.com to update your email address - you are missing and we want you!
ENDING
Most sponsors continue as long as their Butterfly is in school but there is never any pressure or follow-up pleas to continue once you decide to end sponsorship. If ending sponsorship is something you would like to do, that is OK! Ending sponsorship gracefully for the sake of the child is, however, very important. Please review the link ENDING SPONSORSHIP [found on the top left side of this page].
SPONSORSHIP IS ABOUT DONATING
The monetary part of Sponsorship is about donating funds to Vicenta Maria Social Services Society to be applied towards the education of the children at Regina Pacis Boarding. All girls living at and attending Regina Pacis are 100% supported by the Sisters who run the organization and school; therefore the children don't have to worry about being dependent on outside sponsorship and "kicked out" of school if sponsorship ends. Having you, an outside Sponsor, who donates funds towards the cost of education accomplishes two things, (1) lets the children know that someone "out there" cares about them and supports them and (2) allows the Sisters to defer the funds they would normally have applied towards a child's education and apply them instead to, for example, medical needs for the children. In this way your donation goes twice as far! The Sisters receive limited funding and rely heavily on donations that help fulfill their work.
TAX DEDUCTION?
Regina Pacis/Vicenta Maria Social Services Society is a Registered Trust within the country of India. Financial donations are tax exempt IN INDIA as allowable by India law.

For tax exemptions outside of India please get advice from your tax authorities applicable to your specific country and situation.
DONATION LETTER
Regina Pacis is required by Indian Law to have a donation letter for every donation they receive, each time a donation is made: records of donations are kept and audited often by authorities.
The donation letter can no longer be emailed as of 2002.

You can also MAIL snail-mail the donation letter to Regina Pacis, the same address you use to send letters to the children:

The CONTENT of the donation letter is very specific. It must be as follows:
A. Your Name
B. Your Full Mailing Address
C. The Date
D.A first line like the following:
Dear Sister,
We would like to donate Rs.8000 towards the education of the children of your institution.
(Note the key words are "donate" and "education" and "children")
E. A second (or more, as you wish) line of your own words. For example, "we are happy to do it" or "good luck with your program" or whatever.
F. Your name printed and signature.
GETTING FUNDS TO REGINA PACIS
Regina Pacis can receive funds in any normal manner. The way you choose to donate should be your personal preference. Please remember to include a donation letter as described above. Please also remember to inform us of your method of donation so we can tell you when it arrives: CAL@TheWorldNow.com
Wiring Funds may be one of the easiest and fastest ways to donate and is most popular. It simply means calling your bank and telling them to send, for example, $200USD, from your account to the Vincenta Maria Social Services (Regina Pacis) account in India. There is a bunch of account information about Regina Pacis that your bank will need. To get this information please email CAL@TheWorldNow.com If your bank charges wiring fees try asking for a waiver since the wire is for a charitable cause.
Personal checks are acceptable and can be mailed to Sr. Margaret Fernandes at the same Regina Pacis address you send your letters to. Checks should be made out to Vicenta Maria Social Services Society and made out in your currency.
Money Orders and other methods such as demand drafts are also very acceptable. Please confer with your local bank and/or post office to discuss the options specific to your country and area.
Cash is always accepted as well. If you know someone in the Bombay area whom you prefer to deliver cash directly, please arrange a meeting time with Sr. Margaret Fernandes.
For Tax Exemption in India (Indian residents only), payment must be made by check made out to Vicenta Maria Social Services Society
